FM27: Everything We Know So Far

fm27

FM27 is officially on the way.

After months of waiting, speculation and plenty of questions from the Football Manager community, Sports Interactive has finally started pulling back the curtain on the next edition of the series.

There is still a lot we don’t know about FM27, but we now have some important information to work with.

FM27 will launch in November 2026, while the exact release date and supported platforms are still to be confirmed. Sports Interactive has also confirmed that more detailed feature announcements and the first gameplay looks will begin arriving from September.

So, what do we actually know about FM27 right now?

Here’s everything confirmed so far.

FM27 Release Date

The biggest piece of news is now official: FM27 will launch in November 2026.

Sports Interactive confirmed the release window on August 27, ending months of uncertainty surrounding the game’s launch.

However, there is one important detail still missing.

The exact FM27 release date has not been announced yet.

Sports Interactive says that the specific launch date will be revealed at a later stage, alongside confirmation of the platforms the game will be available on.

That means we know when FM27 is coming, but not the exact day yet.

And with September set to bring the first major feature announcements, we shouldn’t have to wait too much longer for more information.

FM27 New Features: What Has Been Revealed?

Sports Interactive has now released the first two major FM27 deep dives, covering the redesigned interface and improvements to the wider football world.

The interface presentation reveals a revised navigation system, more direct access to important screens, redesigned messages and additional customisation options. Players will also be able to choose between different information-density settings and make better use of larger displays.

The second presentation focuses on immersion. Expanded news coverage, redesigned club and competition screens, a new Competitions Hub and improved player career histories are designed to make the world beyond your club more interesting to explore.

Several familiar features are also returning, including cup draws, a revamped Transfer Deadline Day and heat maps. Meanwhile, new Continue Flow settings will allow players to choose how frequently the game stops to show different types of information.

These are confirmed changes, but their impact on the overall playing experience remains to be seen.

What Has Sports Interactive Confirmed About FM27?

At the moment, the list of fully confirmed FM27 features is still relatively short.

That’s intentional.

Sports Interactive has said that it wants to share more details about the game’s additions and improvements before opening pre-orders.

So far, we know that:

  • FM27 will launch in November 2026.
  • The exact release date has not yet been confirmed.
  • Supported platforms have not yet been fully confirmed.
  • Feature deep dives will begin in September.
  • First gameplay looks will also begin arriving from September.
  • More FM27 information will be revealed in the weeks leading up to launch.
  • Sports Interactive is looking to evolve the current design while restoring ideas and behaviours that players valued in previous editions.
  • An official Football Manager Discord server is planned for September.

That may not sound like a huge list yet, but we’re still at the very beginning of the FM27 information cycle.

What About FM27 Gameplay?

This is arguably the biggest unanswered question.

We haven’t yet seen the full FM27 match experience.

Sports Interactive has confirmed that first looks at gameplay will arrive from September, meaning we should soon get a much better understanding of what has changed on the pitch.

That could include improvements to the match engine, presentation, animations, player behaviour, tactical systems or other gameplay elements.

For now, however, it is important to separate confirmed information from speculation.

Until Sports Interactive shows us more, we won’t pretend to know exactly how FM27 will play.

And honestly, that’s part of what makes the next few weeks exciting.

Will FM27 Have a New Match Engine?

At this point, there has been no official confirmation of a completely new match engine for FM27.

That means any claims suggesting that a specific new engine has already been confirmed should be treated carefully.

What we do know is that gameplay first looks are coming in September.

Those reveals should give us a much clearer picture of how the match experience has evolved.

For now, the safest conclusion is simple:

The FM27 match experience is still largely under wraps.

What Platforms Will FM27 Be On?

This is another major piece of information that hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Sports Interactive has said that the supported platforms for FM27 will be confirmed alongside the specific release date.

So, while previous Football Manager editions have appeared across multiple platforms and versions, we shouldn’t assume that every previous platform will automatically return for FM27.

We’ll update this section as soon as official platform information is released.

Will There Be FM27 Early Access?

There is currently no fully confirmed early access date for FM27.

Sports Interactive has been expanding its playtesting approach ahead of FM27, with a wider group of players being invited to help test development builds and provide feedback.

That is separate from the public launch, however.

For now, players should wait for official confirmation regarding any pre-release access arrangements.

FM27 Pre-Orders

Pre-orders for FM27 are not open yet.

Sports Interactive has explained that pre-orders will go live closer to launch.

The studio has also indicated that it wants to share more information about the game’s additions and improvements before opening pre-orders.

That makes sense.

Players will have a much clearer idea of what FM27 offers once the September feature reveals begin.

What We Still Don’t Know About FM27

Despite the recent announcement, there is still a huge amount we don’t know.

Among the biggest unanswered questions are:

  • The exact FM27 release date
  • Supported platforms
  • Pricing
  • Pre-order details
  • The full list of new features
  • Match engine improvements
  • Tactical changes
  • Transfer and recruitment improvements
  • Scouting changes
  • AI manager improvements
  • UI and UX changes
  • Staff and backroom improvements
  • Player development changes
  • Set-piece improvements
  • Whether existing systems have been redesigned
  • Which features from previous editions are returning

And this is where September becomes crucial.

We expect many of these questions to start receiving answers as Sports Interactive begins its FM27 feature deep dives.

Our FM27 Wishlist

Of course, knowing what Sports Interactive has confirmed is only half of the story.

The other half is what we want to see.

We’ve already put together our own wishlist covering the areas we would most like FM27 to improve.

From gameplay and transfers to the overall management experience, these are the changes we believe could make FM27 a better Football Manager experience.

We’ll also be revisiting that wishlist as more information about FM27 becomes available.

If Sports Interactive confirms a feature we’ve asked for, we’ll be keeping score.

FM27: What Happens Next?

The next major milestone is September.

That’s when Sports Interactive plans to begin revealing more information about FM27, including detailed feature deep dives and the first looks at gameplay.

For the Football Manager community, this is effectively the beginning of the FM27 reveal season.

And with the game now confirmed for November, the road to release is officially underway.

There are still plenty of unanswered questions, but that’s likely to change quickly.

We’ll be updating this article whenever important new information is officially confirmed, so bookmark this page and check back regularly for the latest FM27 news.

FM27 is coming in November 2026. Now we wait to see exactly what Sports Interactive has been building.
